Atoms: 10

GAMES WILL COMMENCE THIS SUNDAY (9TH MAY 2010)...!! THE PUCK WILL DROP AT 3:45. PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU ARE AT THE RINK NO LATER THAN 3:15. THIS GIVES TIME FOR THE KIDS TO GET READY AND TO GET A JERSEY. TEAMS HAVE NOT BEEN ALLOCATED YET, HOWEVER I WILL HAVE ALL THE JERSEYS READY FOR DISTRIBUTION BEFORE THE GAME. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BE THERE EARLY AS THIS WILL BE HECTIC AND WE DO NOT WANT TO WASTE ICE TIME. ONCE YOUR CHILD IS DRESSED, PLEASE SEE ME FOR TEAM ALLOCATION AND JERSEY. IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF ANYTHING, PLEASE EMAIL ME.

ATOMS (11 & UNDER)

Atoms hockey is open to girls or boys aged 11 and under. At this level of ice hockey body checking and slapshots are not allowed.

Training

During the season the Atoms train once a week on Tuesdays from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Extra training sessions may be booked in the run-up to National Championships.

Players are expected to arrive at training sessions at least one-half hour before the scheduled time to ensure that they are in their equipment and ready to take to the ice, as soon as available.

Competition

The Atoms compete locally in the ACTIHA local league. Games are played on Sundays from 3:45 pm to 5:45 pm in Canberra at the Phillip Ice Rink.

National Tournament 2010

The McCrae Williamson Trophy is the National Tournament for Atoms. The tournament for 2010 will be held in Adelaide from 29 June - 4 July. Team selection will happen shortly and I will advise all eligible players when this will be. Accommodation has been booked at the Adelaide Shores Cabin Park. Once team members have been selected, you will be advised and a deposit will be payable to the Association for this accommodation. Further details to come....watch this space...!
