MIDGETS (18 & UNDER)
Midget hockey is open to boys aged 18 and under. At this level, ice hockey is full contact (i.e. body checking ) and slapshots are also allowed.
Training
During the season the Midgets train once a week on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Phillip Ice Rink. Extra training sessions may be booked in the run-up to league play-offs or national championships.
Players are expected to arrive at training sessions at least one-half hour before the scheduled time to ensure that they are in their equipment and ready to take to the ice, as soon as available.
Competition
The Midgets compete in the New South Wales Hockey League. Games are played either in Canberra or at various Sydney rinks.
Midget players also competed in the Senior B Competition in 2008.

Heaton Cup
Peewee/Midget Tournament held in Canterbury on Friday April 10, 2009 (Good Friday), Phoenix Midgets are planning on entering a team again this year.
News
The 2008 Canberra Phoenix Midget team finished 6th overall in the New South Wales Travel League competition
and finished 1st in the Canberra Senior B competition.
