URGENT NEWS: May 28 training sessions cancelled
MHL (14 & OLDER)
MHL hockey is open to male and female players aged 14 and older. This league is non-contact. MHL has three divisions:
"The Flyers" - A team that competes in the Senior B competition. To be selected for this team a player must have good fitness, advanced ice hockey skills and an excellent understanding of the game.
MHL A - This level is designed for the Intermediate player. A player should have more than one year of ice hockey experience and have a good understanding of the game. MHL-A teams compete in the Senior C competition.
MHL B - This level is designed for Beginner players having the basic ice hockey skills and an understanding of the game. It is ideal for players who have graduated from the Senior Ice Hockey Academy. MHL-B teams compete in the Senior D competition.
2010 training schedule provides details of the MHL training schedule. The game schedule is not yet finalised.
Communication
Coaches, managers and players communicate via the mhl-players@actiha.org.au mailing list. This is in addition to the general actiha-members list. As a player, you must be subscribed to both. Instructions are online for subscribing to mailing lists.
Training
During the season MHL players train once a week on Friday evenings. MHL-B players train from 7:00 pm to 8:00pm. MHL-A and Senior B players train from 7:30pm to 8:30pm.
Players are expected to arrive at training sessions at least one-half hour before the scheduled time to ensure that they are in their equipment and ready to take to the ice.

Competition
The MHL teams compete in the ACTIHA Senior D, Senior C and (possibly) Senior B leagues. Games are played in Canberra at the Phillip Ice Rink. Game schedule has not yet been published (see above).
MHL players compete for the 'Spamley Cup'.
