ACTIHA Officials

Referees, time-keepers and scorers play a vital role in the ACTIHA - it is not possible to play Hockey without officials.

Referees

Referees officiate all ACTIHA games.

Course

A course for referees and linesmen will be held 13-14 April 2007. The programme is as follows:

Friday 13th 1800 - 2100 Linesmen's course ( for the first timers)

Saturday 14th 0900 - 1200 Linesmen's course

Saturday 14th 1200 - 1700 Referees course (for the existing officials)

Sunday 15th 1000 - 1500 Referees course

The National Officiating Program consists of the following levels:

  1. Linesmen - intended for first time officials and is the entry level

  2. Referee - Level 1 which is intended for the officials that have completed the Linemen's component or have past experience

  3. Referee Level 2 all officials that have existing qualifications and are attending the yearly mandatory course

  4. Referee Level 3 internationally accredited officials that can officiate International games in their own country

  5. Referee Level 4 Internationally accredited officials that can officiate at overseas International tournaments ... etc

The venue for the course is the Phillip Ice Rink.

Time-keepers and Scorers

Time-keepers and scorers have various duties. They keep the official time for a game, keep records of goals (including goal scorers and assists), and oversee penalties.
